This article provides information about the BC Launch Online Grant program which provides up to $7500 towards taking your business online.
This program is designed to help small businesses in BC launch or improve their e-commerce sites, attract new customers, and expand into new markets. If you are a business registered in BC with fewer than 150 employees and something to sell online, this grant might be for you.
The grant provides 75% of development costs up to $7500. This means a business can get $10,000 of capital investment into their e-commerce initiatives for $2500. It is a great opportunity to remain competitive in a rapidly changing commercial landscape.
The grant can be used to build or enhance an e-commerce site to have some or all of the following features:
- Customer registration and information security features
- Shopping cart and order management capabilities
- Payment processing options including application of appropriate taxes and shipping costs at time of ordering
- Product catalogue, search and inventory status
- Website analytics and reporting capabilities

The program requires that the work must be performed by a registered BC company and delivered within twelve weeks. The application intake is open until the grant fund is fully subscribed, and awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.
